Unique Salon Hair Color- Instructions to Use

Advanced Coloration's advanced micro-molecule technology delivers complete grey coverage without the need to add neutral or gold to your mixture. Simply apply the color formula and you'll obtain your desired color.

Advanced Coloration's hair color products use less than 0.5% ammonia. This is just enough to process the color without drying out the hair. Color stops processing after 30 minutes, so leaving the color on longer will not damage the hair or process hair to a darker shade. Other color lines use 3-4% ammonia, which can continue to process color and increase hair dryness up to several hours later. Products that claim to be “ammonia free” use an ammonia substitute (MEA) in liquid form that can process color up to 2 weeks after application.

Our unique conditioning complex mimics the hair's natural keratin. The result is strong, healthy hair and radiant shine. Our conditioner will leave the hair in better condition than before it was colored.

Advanced Coloration's delayed oxidation technology creates a superior developer consistency during mixing and a more uniform color application.

All of the Advanced Coloration color series have been specially formulated at every level to counteract residual pigment undertones. All of our shades already contain a specific amount of color corrector. For example, if your target shade is 7CR, a specified amount of blue color corrector has already been added to counteract the remaining orange pigment. Simply apply the color formula and you'll obtain your desired color.

Advanced Coloration has virtually no smell, low or no scalp irritation, and minimal staining around client's hairline.

Formulating Advanced Coloration

Advanced Coloration's Professional Hair Color products are simple to formulate.

  • Match your client's hair color to one of the 3 levels in the Natural Level series. If their hair color falls between two levels, choose the darker of the two.
  • Choose your desired shade from the swatch book. Each shade is categorized by both the alphabetical and international description.
  • Mix and process as follows:
MIXING PROCESSING
1 level of lift – mix 10-volume 20 min (or longer for full deposit)
2 levels of lift – mix 20-volume 35-40 min
3 levels of lift – mix 30-volume 40-45 min
4 levels of lift – mix 40-volume 45 min

Before You Begin

For optimal High Definition color results:

  • Always use a scale for accuracy and to minimize product waste.
  • Always process formulas at room temperature (including powder lighteners). Heat processing removes conditioning moisture and slows the lift process.
  • Always apply color generously to the hair for complete Gray coverage.
  • Always use a ph-based shampoo and conditioner on color-treated hair.

Coloring Techniques

Excellent Gray Coverage

Mix 2 parts 20-volume with 1 part color. Select one level darker than your target color on re-growth areas. Process for a full 30-40 minutes.

Example: Target color is 5CH but client has some grey. Cover grey with a mixture of 2 parts 20-volume and 1 part 4CH. Apply 2 parts 7-volume and 1 part 5CH on ends.
Tip: Immediately after applying color to regrowth, apply color to ends for a total processing time of 35-40 minutes.

Demi-Permanent Results

Mix 2 parts 7-volume with 1 part color. Process for 5-10 minutes. Mix any shade in the collection with 7-volume developer to achieve gorgeous demi-permanent results.

Using the Joker tool

Our unique Joker product can be used on stubborn, color-resistant hair. It contains slightly higher ammonia levels than our other colors, yet still very minimal (less than 1%). The additional ammonia helps open up the cuticle more than with our standard colors. Use on color-resistant hair or to lighten a shade up to one-quarter of a level. Add up to 5g of Joker to color formula.

Hi-lift Blondes

Mix 3 parts 40-volume to 1 part superlightener.

Toning and Glazing

For hair color level 8 and lighter, mix 2 parts 7-volume with 1 part superlightener. Note: if processed for more than 10 minutes you may notice a slight lift.

Powder Lighteners

Mix 1 part powder with a minimum of 2 parts developer. Do not add more powder. Mixture will thicken after one minute.

Neutralizing Gold Tones

Add toner to level 9 or 10 color formula to neutralize unwanted gold tones.

Correcting Colors

Add one of our color Intensifiers to any formula to boost color or remove unwanted color. Our All Natural Ash series can also be used as correctors.

Example: Client's hair color is 8CH and target color is 8N. Simply apply 8NA with 7-volume for 20 minutes or more.
