Hair color pigments are large macromolecules that have traditionally been refined to 89% purity. The large size of these molecules requires the cuticle be opened wide enough to allow the color molecule to penetrate the hair shaft.
Advanced Coloration’s professional hair color technology refines the color molecule to 99.8% purity. These much smaller micro-molecules can penetrate the hair shaft more easily and in greater numbers for richer, more vibrant color than you’ve ever experienced.
Ammonia
Other hair color products contain large amounts of ammonia (3-4%) or monoethanolamine (MEA). These levels are necessary to expand the hair cuticle enough to allow the large color pigments to be deposited. This causes irreparable damage and the dry, damaged hair cuticle can not retain color. Inevitably, the hair loses its color brilliancy over time.
At Advanced Coloration, we recognize that ammonia is a very effective color agent when applied correctly. Our professional hair color products use less than 0.5% ammonia – just enough to allow the tiny micro-pigments to penetrate the hair shaft. Conditioning
Conditioning is a vital component of every hair color product. Other color lines use conditioning formulas to try to repair some of the cuticle damage caused by the ammonia or MEA.
